Scavenger Hunts
The Scavenger Hunts found in this section of the website may be used by teachers for grades 3 – 12 who are planning visits to the River Road African American Museum. This is a series of interactive resource materials that can be used by students and teachers that will enhance your visit to the museum. Please download the files or have students download the questions and bring the questions with them on the tour. Students will be given time after each tour to find the answers; staff is available to assist them.

Purchased Lives: The American Slave Trade from 1808 to 1865
“Purchased Lives: The American Slave Trade from 1808 to 1865” is a new permanent exhibition on display at the River Road African American Museum (THE RRAAM). This powerful and poignant exhibit was developed by The Historic New Orleans Collection as a collaborative project for The RRAAM’s 25th Year Anniversary. Education groups can view the exhibit during the museum’s regular hours from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, Wednesday through Saturday.
