Celebrating 25 Years
The RRAAM is celebrating it’s 25th anniversary this year, and we are hosting a 25th Anniversary Gala on October 6th, 2019 at the Water Campus located in Downtown Baton Rouge on the Mississippi River.
The RRAAM provides visitors from around the world a unique experience of learning about the growth and success of African Americans in the River Parishes between Baton Rouge and New Orleans. We showcase exhibits celebrating achievement in all areas of life for African Americans from the Julien Cane Planter which revolutionized sugar cane production, to the first black mayor in America, Pierre Caliste Landry, right there in Donaldsonville, LA.
Sponsors
The proceeds of the 25th Anniversary Gala will be used to finish our Rosenwald School for Education and Culture. We have an original Rosenwald School and it will host cultural events, STEM and STEAM camps, and educational & historical events as a part of the RRAAM’s mission.
